LeiHall’s Wildlife and Animal Sanctuary

Our Mission
Whenever possible, LeiHall will provide shelter, care and protection for injured, weak or lame waterfowl, non-poisonous and non-vicious wildlife and domestic animals. We will accept animals that need protection and will feed and provide care for them, as our funds will allow. Please call 706.295.7262 for more information.

Farm Tours
We are open for farm tours during our growing season. If your group is interested in picnicking by our pond to mingle amongst our wildlife, or if you are interested in touring our Organic gardens, please call 706.295.7262 to schedule your visit.

Donations
Vet and feed bills for our animals are expensive. We gratefully accept donations or love offerings to help with our cost of feed and to enable us to continue to attend to the medical needs of our animals. Please mail your donation to: LeiHall Farm, PO Box 554, Plainville, Ga. 30733-0554.

Some of Our Amazing Rescue Animals...

"AMANDA” is a permanent resident on our pond. She is a large Canada Goose that was arrow wounded on her left wing. The arrow eventually fell aside but her crooked and broken wing prevents Amanda from flying. Amanda is often lonely but will socialize with the wild Geese that fly in daily. She feeds with our domestic ducks every evening. Slowly, she is beginning to trust us.

A roaming dog attacked “HERCULES”, a big white Muscovy. The bite wound nearly decapitated him. However, since the wound was on the right side of his neck, the main artery was not severed. Dr. Sherman from Whatly Animal Clinic in Plainville, Georgia lovingly repaired Hercules’ ligaments, muscles and tendons in his mangled neck in March of 2006. Hercules has recovered, but is limited in his ability to fly.

OUR NEWEST ADDITION - THE PIG FAMILY

We have adopted an amazing family of pot-bellied pigs. The mom and dad and three piglets are adjusting well to their new surroundings and the love and care they are receiving at LeiHall Farm.

SQUIRT appeared at LeiHall 2 years ago as a puppy. He struggles with extremely short and slightly deformed legs. Squirt cannot swim and suffers from severe arthritis in both his front legs. He is loving and very fond of children and chasing squirrels. Squirt is a permanent resident of LeiHall’s Animal Sanctuary.

ROSIE was rescued in January 2006. Soaking wet, she weighted all of 5 pounds. She is part Chihuahua and part terrier. She was hungry, had worms, had recently given birth and extremely disoriented when we found her up in the middle of highway 53 in Shannon, Ga. After we attended to her health needs and allowed her milk to dry, Rosie was spayed by All Animal Care in Calhoun and is now a permanent house pet. Rosie and Squirt are great buddies.

We have many other pets at Leihall to include assorted ducks, domestic dogs, deer, cows, chickens and cats. The pets on this page are but a few of our “Rescue” animals. Your contributions of natural or organic animal feed (duck, chicken or dog feed), or your financial contributions are welcomed and appreciated!
